Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire

Book Review, January 2000

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (book review) / 51BPzo0%2Bw3L. SL160 I’m not sure why they decided to hype this particular book so much at the time — with toys, soundtracks, games, etc. — when there were so many better Star Wars books before and since. This was okay, but couldn’t live up to the hype.

Your Comment:

What if God created life on other planets — how would that fit in with the Christian worldview? Lewis tackles this question and more in this extremely imaginative fiction. I’m sure the reality would be a lot more complex than he describes, but his version is probably more fun to read… while also being refreshingly anti-Wellsian.

Inspired by C. S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy — which itself was inspired by H. G. Wells — this novel really captured my interest as a teenager and kickstarted a life-long fascination with Lawhead’s works.
