Pixar’s latest film, Up, isn’t the studio’s greatest, but it was a heartwarming odd-couple adventure… especially for dog lovers. Definitely worth seeing in 3D, which added a lot to the peril of some of the high-flying adventure. The film was something a little different from Pixar; a bit more understated with more of a tug [...]
Carcassonne is a fantastic simple board game for the family; highly recommended.
I’ve always thought of board games as a fun thing to do together; but I have to admit, it drives me crazy to sit and play a board game that is based 100% on the roll of the dice, with little or no skill [...]
A fine family adventure film — particularly enjoyed Ronan’s performance. Alas, the plot was just a tad shallower than I would have hoped.

A great sequel for the family, sure to please anyone who enjoyed the first film. It diverges from the book a bit more, but in good ways: to add more action and excitement. I loved the dwarves and the griffons the most, and didn’t mind all the homages to the Lord of [...]
It’s more about goblins than it is about fairies, with some fun and thrilling scares for the family. I really hope they make more!

It wasn’t the fantasy film you might expect from the advertisements; it was something much better. A film about friendship, dreams and dealing with loss. A must-see for anyone with kids six or older.

Favourite moment: Obi-Wan vs. Jango Fett.

Awesome film, unfortunately overshadowed by the Harry Potter series… if you believe in fairies, see this!
